About Me

Hello, my name is Kathryn. As a counsellor, I hold a DipHE in Integrative Counselling and a BSc in Professional Practice. I am a registered member of the BACP and the ACC. We will always begin sessions in a person-centred way as we get to know each other and build a working relationship. I will then draw from different therapeutic fields depending on what you bring to the sessions. We may use CBT, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Parts work or Gestalt and attachment theory.

A blonde woman smiles in front of a pine fence. She is wearing a denim jacket and her smile reaches her eyes, which crinkle with warmth. In the background it is a sunny day and trees can be seen with red and green leaves.

Common Questions

  • I see the therapeutic process as being collaborative; we will work alongside each other to support the development of a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships with others.

I am an integrated therapist who draws from different therapeutic fields to meet each client’s needs. Whether using person-centred techniques, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), creative interventions, transactional analysis, Gestalt or psychodynamic approaches, my focus is always on offering a non-judgmental, empathetic, safe and caring space for you to be heard.

  • As a counsellor, I hold a DipHE in Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and the ACC.

I previously worked as a nurse across many specialities during my career. I have a BSc in Professional Practice.

I have worked in palliative care, chronic disease management, carer support, funding for care packages, chemotherapy administration and general nursing.

  • I have experience in bereavement, anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, panic attacks, chronic illness, life-limiting conditions and carer support. I work in a trauma-informed way to create a safe, affirming and inclusive space for clients regardless of gender identity, ethnicity, age, religion or socio-economic background.

Before I tranined as a counsellor I worked for many years in both the NHS and the privale sector as a nurse. This work informed my view of counselling and how I approach working together in a collaborative way

  • I offer an initial 15-minute phone call to see if I would be the right counsellor for you. I offer face-to-face and online counselling sessions or a mixture of both, depending on what is best for you. I offer a range of appointment times and offer a limited number of concessional spaces at a lower cost. Please let me know if you would like to be considered for one of these spaces.
